Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort 2026: The Buildings Worth Booking vs Avoiding

By Travel Influencer - March 17, 2026

Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort (2026 Update)

Resort Overview

  • Size: 200 acres — the largest hotel on Disney property
  • Type: Disney's first moderate resort, extensively refurbished in recent years
  • Feel: Tropical, laid-back island atmosphere; still looks and feels fresh
  • Layout: 33 buildings across 5 neighborhoods (Aruba, Jamaica, Barbados, Martinique, Trinidad)
  • Central Hub: Old Port Royal — check-in, concierge, dining, and main amenities

Dining

Sebastian's Bistro — sit-down, Caribbean-inspired plates with waterfront views; an underrated gem

Centertown Market — main food court styled as an indoor street market; burgers, jerk chicken bowls, grab-and-go coffee and snacks

Spyglass Grill — mini quick-service near the Trinidad neighborhood pool; helpful if you're staying in that section

The Biggest Perk: Disney Skyliner

Caribbean Beach is the main hub of the Skyliner gondola system — not just a stop, but the central station.

  • Hollywood Studios → ~5–7 minutes
  • Epcot (International Gateway) → ~15 minutes

Game-changer for rope dropping and midday returns to your room.

The Main Challenge: You Can't Have Everything

The resort is too large to be close to both the Skyliner station and the Old Port Royal dining/lobby area at the same time. You have to choose your priority before you book.

2026 Room Category Update

Disney has simplified booking. The old Standard View / Water View categories are gone. Now there are just two:

Category What It Means
Standard Location Farther from main amenities; better value
Preferred Location Close to pool, food court, or Skyliner; premium price

Neighborhood Breakdown

Martinique & Barbados — Best for Families / Pool Priority

  • Preferred location rooms
  • Buildings: 24, 25, 26 (Martinique) · 31, 32, 35 (Barbados)
  • 2-minute walk to Fuentes del Morro feature pool, Centertown Market, and Sebastian's Bistro
  • Best choice if little kids want to be at the pool all day

Jamaica — Best for Skyliner Access

  • Buildings 41, 42, 43 — recently reclassified from standard to preferred due to Skyliner proximity
  • Right at the foot of the gondolas; ideal for Hollywood Studios rope droppers
  • Building 45 ⭐ — technically standard location, but sits almost perfectly halfway between the Skyliner hub and Old Port Royal; best value on the property for guests who want a little of everything

Aruba — Best for Epcot Days

  • Buildings 54, 55, 56
  • Short walk to Disney's Riviera Resort Skyliner Station — typically much quieter than the main Caribbean Beach hub
  • Caveat: If heading to Hollywood Studios, you'll still transfer at the main hub, so this only saves time on Epcot days

Trinidad — Most Love/Hate

  • Farthest neighborhood from the main lobby — Building 39 is closer to Art of Animation than to Caribbean Beach's center
  • Pro: Rooms recently updated with Murphy beds — fold the bed up during the day for significantly more floor space
  • Con: Very long walk every morning to dining and amenities
  • Use Spyglass Grill nearby to avoid the trek for quick meals

Room Tips

Corner rooms — not a separate booking category, but worth requesting. Extra window = more natural light, larger feel, and only one neighbor = quieter.

Exterior corridors — all rooms open directly outside (high-end motel style). No private balconies, but lush landscaping and beach areas compensate.

Fifth sleeper bed — families of 5 often trigger this automatically, but families of 4 needing a separate sleeping space must specifically request it. Not guaranteed.

How to Actually Get the Room You Want

Do this:

  • Request a general area or building (e.g., "building 45, close to the Skyliner")
  • Add a floor preference if relevant (e.g., ground floor for strollers)
  • Flag your top priority clearly if you have a specific need

Don't do this:

  • Request a specific room number — creates a chain reaction for assigners and rarely works
  • Book standard and request a preferred-area building — almost zero chance of an upgrade

Check-In Pro Tip

Skip online check-in if you have specific room requests. Online check-in tells the system to assign the first available room in your category as you approach the property — it doesn't always account for nuanced requests. Go to the front desk, talk to a cast member, and remind them of your preferences. The human connection often makes the difference between a parking lot view and a water view.
