Rixos Premium Seagate, Sharm El Sheikh - Full Resort Review
Trip duration: 9 nights | Cost: ~£1,400 | Travelers: Couple (narrator + Paige)
First Impressions & Arrival
Arrived after dark. Immediate impression: the resort is enormous — buggies are provided and necessary to navigate the complex. Design is sleek and modern throughout.
Accommodation
Room type: Standard Superior, Aqua Side
- Modern, well-equipped
- Mini bar included and restocked daily with drinks and snacks
- Bathroom spacious with decent toiletries
- Balcony view unremarkable but pleasant for an evening drink
Pools & Beach
- 7 pools on property — finding a sunbed was never an issue
- Most time spent between the main pool and the entertainment pool (water polo sessions happened)
- Snorkeling: shallow area near the jetty plus a deeper section at the end — crystal clear water, smaller tropical fish plus some larger ones
- Beautiful, well-maintained gardens throughout the resort
Aqua Adventure Water Park
- 20+ slides
- Visited on Day 2 — full afternoon spent there
- Ideal for cooling off in 37°C heat
Fitness & Activities
Outdoor Gym
- Standard equipment, solid session possible
Jungle Gym (adjacent to outdoor gym, near the beach)
- Unique and fun, some equipment more novelty than practical
- Narrator preferred the outdoor gym combo over the indoor fitness centre
Detox Bar
- Fresh juices available — mango and strawberry both recommended
Rixos Sharm El Sheikh (Adults-Only Side)
- Free access for all Premium Seagate guests
- Noticeably calmer, more relaxed atmosphere
- Good for a change of pace but lacks the entertainment and water park energy of the main side
- Activities: cornhole, quieter pool areas
- Has its own a la carte restaurant (see dining below)
Dining
All a la carte dining included in the all-inclusive package. Reservations required — book early as slots fill up.
La Vivo — Italian Restaurant (Seagate side)
- Carbonara — decent but not the standout
- Beef tenderloin — highlight of the meal, cooked perfectly
- Arancini (side) — good
- Mushroom risotto (Paige) — ordered alongside
Taj Mahal — Indian Restaurant (Adults-only side)
- Visited because no a la carte slots were available at Seagate
- Chicken tikka (starter, both) — solid
- Vegetable samosas — crispy, hot, very good
- Butter chicken with pilau rice and garlic naan — recommended
- Lamb curry with jasmine rice (Paige) — strong
- Bombay potatoes (shared) — good
- Service was noticeably slow — missed most of the evening's entertainment as a result
The Mangle — Beachfront BBQ (The one everyone talks about)
- Personal chef cooks at your table on a live grill
- Starts with a meze spread — fresh bread, dips, salads
- Main grill: steaks, chicken kebabs, lamb skewers — chicken was standout, second portion ordered
- Dessert: Turkish ice cream with the full theatrical vendor experience
- Verdict: Best meal of the trip. Book this one first.
Evening Entertainment
- Nightly shows — quality described as unlike anything seen before; one performance rated 10/10
- Acts include tribute nights (Queen tribute noted)
- Pool party on the final day: music, cocktails, inflatables, slide
Off-Site Excursion — El Sheriff Safari
Recommended by a fellow guest. Half-day desert experience.
- Sand buggies — two-man, fast, rough terrain
- Camel riding — mid-route stop
- Traditional Egyptian tea — offered at a desert stop (sweet, mint-forward)
- Sunset views over the desert before heading back
- Overall: highly recommended addition to the trip
